projects & a little whoops.
It's been a while, a good while since I've blogged. This seems to be a trend....
Life has gotten busy. Back in May I got hired on at a textbook store off-campus. I work 10am-6pm most days. I love it. At the time, I was also working at the farm for strawberry season. Juggling was fun. I love(d) both jobs. That's not all folks. I'm also a youth ministry intern/youth director at New Liberty UMC in Braselton, Ga, which happens to be the church that my old youth minister (he blogs here) pastors. It's fantastic. The youth are incredible with hearts of gold. We have all the fun.
So basically Iread work all week and chill at my house with Brent watching HGTV and go home for the weekends to hang out with the fam and some pretty awesome teens and pre-teens. This is my life. I love it. It's fantastic. Oh and I'm getting my heart ready for interning at Wesley in the fall (so pumped!). It's crazy and busy but I love it and that is what matters. God is doing His thing and it is good.
Anywhoo, back to the post. I finished some decor projects in my room of my apartment! And I'm sharing them right before I move out in a few weeks. A good while back I shared this lovely post on DIY decor inspiration for my apartment. Some turned out great, some did not.

Not too shabby, if I do say so myself. I have some plans to change up the lamp color and the earring holder. I'm even thinking of making one similar to this one and this one. Maybe even a combo with some window screen for my earrangs. The ultimate dream would be this one from Urban Outfitters. We shall see.
Then there's the whoops moment. So, in the process of creating this post and deleting all of these old drafts lying around I deleted my last post on all that happened in April. Sad day. It's gone for good, unless I can somehow resurrect it from the world of blogger. We shall see.
Buenos Noches.

Earring holder from a frame and upcycled fabric. I'm in love with the color of the frame. I've used it so much!
Cans and jars turned supplies holders. It's amazing what a little paint and scrapbook paper can do.
My pride and joy. It took a few different arrangements to come up with this one and I couldn't be happier. It's filled with cards, scripture, photos, a cute printable calendar I found online, a few frames, a handy chalkboard from the Target $ section, a DIY cardboard lightening bolt (I cannot think of what to call this sort of project...it's like the cardboard letters from craft stores..), little sentiments, etc. So proud. I'm sad to see it go for a while.
The canvas was inspired by this pin. It was such an easy DIY. Stripes and glitter.
My mustard lamp and ruffled shade. This shade is also one of my proudest DIY's, too. I followed this tutorial. Lost of well-worth-it work. As for the lamp, it took a few coats and a good bit of mixing to get the perfect shade of mustard, and the poor camera doesn't do it justice, it's less orangy in person.
The two photos and canvas hang in my bathroom above the toilet. The right photo is a watercolor print of a little bird, inside a frame painted the same color as the earring holder frame. Swoon. I painted one of my favorite scriptures, Proverbs 16.24, onto the canvas. These words just speak straight to the heart. The left photo is from the Wizard of Oz, aka my favorite movie as a child. I was Dorothy for like 3 years in a row and had a Wizard of Oz themed 9th birthday party with family. Good times. Anyways, I painted an old Target frame (they sell them in a 3 pack) nickel and added 2 boarders of mixed metal glitter.
